International Credit Union Day 2006 West Lothian Credit Union Forum, in partnership with West Lothian Council Advice Shop and West Lothian Financial Inclusion Network, organised "Making a World of Difference", an event to celebrate International Credit Union Day, held at St Margaret's Academy, Livingston on 29th October 2006. Over 200 people came along on the day, representing all four corners of the earth, to hear performances by The Yiddish Song Project, Waa Sylla African Drummers and Ronak Baja Indian Street Band. Children from Carmondean Primary performed an anti-racism show, and were awarded prizes for a poster competition by Linlithgow MSP Mary Mulligan. She and Livingston MP Jim Devine made speeches praising credit unions, and Livingston MSP Bristow Muldoon also attended. See the press releases before and after the event, and the photographs below.
